There are currently two treatments available in Australia for Fabry Disease. Patients in consultation with their doctor should consider all available information when choosing which enzyme therapy is most appropriate for their needs.

Funding for the treatment of Fabry Disease
Due to the rarity of the disease the cost of treatment is proportionately more expensive than other drugs on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). Therefore treatment is funded through various government programs such as:
Funding in Australia is provided by the Federal Government in The Life Saving Drugs Program.
Currently there is no funding in New Zealand for Fabry disease, however an application can be made by your doctor to PHARMAC via the Exceptional Circumstances Program.
